Terms of Participation
By registering for or attending any event, workshop, or activity (“Program”) organised by The Joyful Place (operated by The Joyful People Pty Ltd), you agree to the following Terms of Participation.
Last updated: 24 October 2025
1. Registration and Attendance
A completed registration form and full payment (if applicable) are required to confirm your place.
Parents or guardians must provide accurate participant details, including children’s names, ages, emergency contacts, and medical or allergy information.
The Joyful Place reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a program due to low enrolments, facilitator illness, or unforeseen circumstances.
2. Supervision and Drop-Off Programs
Some programs are parent-accompanied, while others are designated drop-off sessions.
For drop-off programs, parents or guardians must:
Complete and sign the Participant Waiver and Consent Form before attendance.
Provide an emergency contact number and remain contactable throughout the session.
Ensure the child is collected promptly at the end of the program by an authorised adult.
The Joyful Place staff will supervise children during drop-off sessions but cannot provide one-to-one care.
Parents agree that staff may take reasonable steps to ensure safety and wellbeing during the program.
3. Participant Waiver and Consent
All participants (or their parent/guardian, if under 18) must complete the Waiver and Consent Form before joining any program.
The form outlines the inherent risks of hands-on activities (e.g. cooking, crafting, and games) and confirms consent for participation.
The waiver also includes consent for emergency first aid and medical attention if required.
Failure to submit a signed waiver may result in refusal of participation without refund.
4. Health and Safety
Please do not attend if you or your child are unwell or experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness.
Notify staff of any allergies, medical conditions, or additional needs before participation.
The Joyful Place takes reasonable care to ensure participant safety but cannot guarantee a risk-free environment.
5. Food and Allergies
Some programs may involve tasting or handling food.
While care is taken to avoid allergens, The Joyful Place cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Parents must inform organisers of any allergies or dietary restrictions before participation.
6. Conduct and Behaviour
The Joyful Place is a family-friendly environment. Respectful and kind behaviour is expected at all times.
Disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behaviour may result in removal from the program without refund.
Parents/guardians are responsible for their children’s conduct.
7. Photos and Media
Photos and videos may be taken during programs for marketing and social media.
We will only use images of participants (including children) with prior written consent provided during registration.
You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us in writing.
8. Personal Belongings
Please label personal items.
The Joyful Place is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen belongings.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be made in writing via email.
Refunds are subject to the cancellation policy outlined in each program listing.
The Joyful Place may offer credits or transfers to another session at its discretion.
10. Liability and Acknowledgment
Participants (or parents/guardians) acknowledge that some activities involve hands-on experiences, light physical activity, or interaction with craft and kitchen materials.
By attending, you accept responsibility for any risks associated with participation.
To the extent permitted by law, The Joyful Place and its staff are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in any program.
